At the Back To The Grain workshop in Lewes, we have two large stripping tanks that are big enough to take large doors and bulky pieces of furniture. The stripping process entails soaking the objects in a warm solution of water and caustic soda and then pressure spraying with hot water. Most types of wood and metal can be stripped using this process, but please read our disclaimer. For more delicate objects, we offer hand stripping using Paramose products. After stripping and a period of drying, we can also undertake finishing and polishing as required.
